In a Bar in Casablanca
by Don

Sit beside me, let me dream
of where we are – together
What would you like, something exotic
as befits our place
For us, together, in this place
this place of dreams.
Of what shall we talk, you and me
while the crickets sing their song
in the still night air, that slides
around our selves
We’ve made it, love, at last
But what to do, to look, to watch
while music swirls, and time
- time it moves past us
past to make
Moments to have, moments to grasp
before mornings wake makes to go
beyond our hold, never return
Candle flickers as thoughts twine
eyes to touch, parting near.
