Corduroy Roads

I been thinkin' so many years ago, 'bout my brand new bike and how it put on quite a show.

I'd set it on the driveway so all the kids could see and take on all the braggin' rights as they ogled back at me.

Most everyday, rain or shine, I'd give my bike a bath. Scrub, then polish end to end, today it makes me laugh.

At first I'd thought to let let them ride and charge 'enjoyment' fees, but changed my mind 'cause all I'd see was my buddies poppin' wheelies.

So, I decided better let them adore me from afar, 'cause as I rode 'round the streets, of the show I was the star.

It's funny how such simple memories can make you feel so good. Just thoughts about my fancy bike and bein' the envy of my old hood.
